Lucy's Loop is basically a short ~1/2 mile long skills course featuring all sorts of low, slow-speed features such as teeter totters, skinnys, bridges, switchbacks, and one fast rock garden section. This isn't a daredevil north-shore style stunt course in any respect. The tallest obstacle isn't much more than 3 feet tall. That being said, does it need to be totally insane to be fun? Heck no! This is a short, entertaining ride just begging to be ridden 2, 3, 4. . .or more times in a row.
The most appealing aspect to me about mountain biking is the challenge of it all. I've heard it said that technical riding is like a video game, where if you don't get it right the first time you can just go back and try it again and again until you finally nail it! Lucy's loop is like that. If you don't get it the first time, retry that obstacle, or run the whole course again. And even if you've finally perfected every feature, well, go ride it again, just for the fun of it!
Since it's so short, I've included a video of the entire skills course below for your enjoyment:

that was a fun vid!- A skilz course like that is just what we need around here in ABQ, a winter proving ground of sorts!
ReplyDeleteThanks dude! It was definitely a neat course. I wish I had one like that down here in North Georgia too!
ReplyDeleteIm not sure if its in this video or not because you hit it fast, but they added some more bigger rocks in the rock garden at the end. Shannon and I were suprised when we came upon it a couple days ago.
