Friends

Greg, AJ, Bryce
Mountain biking or skiing by yourself is a total blast! Both are incredible sports, and provide the opportunity to get away to nature, and push yourself athletically (among other things).  While I thoroughly enjoy riding and skiing by myself, doing the same things with friends is exponentially more enjoyable!

Camaraderie is a crucial element of outdoor sports like these.  There are few things more enjoyable than hanging with a group of guys you know well and tearing it up. (One thing more enjoyable being tearing it up on the ski slopes with my wife!) The atmosphere can be chill or competitive, loud and humorous or quiet and pensive.

Sports offer the opportunity to build relationships beginning with a common interest.  I have found that, especially for guys, common interests (aka sports) get the relational ball rolling, so to speak. From there, the opportunity for deeper relationships develop.  Or not.  Maybe all that there ever is between the two friends is a love of good singletrack.  The cool thing is, with guys, that's ok.  We understand that there are going to be a few close friends, and a bunch of friends that aren't so close.  That's the way things work.  And we're chill with it.

Here's to friends who tear it up!

This is from day 2 of our Midwest ski trip.
